The Curious Strategy Capsule

In Isaac Asimov's science-fiction classic Foundation, the great Hari Seldon left behind a holographic chamber called the Time Vault before his death. The Time Vault had an intelligent trigger: whenever a crisis arrived, Seldon's hologram would light up at precisely the right moment, explain the underlying logic of the situation, and point to a clear path forward.

China has a similar fable: the "strategy capsule." Before the brave general Zhao Zilong set out, Zhuge Liang gave him three sealed capsules. Each could only be opened at a specific moment on the road, and each strategy determined the success of the next stage.

The magic of the Time Vault and the strategy capsule is that a wise person placed them in advance. They suddenly activate in a future time and place.

The Inefficiency of Turn-by-Turn Conversations

The way people use Agents today is deeply inefficient. It works one round, I reply once; it works another round, I reply again. This uncertainty of always being on call is exhausting.

People have to wait until the Agent reaches a certain node, and then tell it where to go next. It is like a driver pulling over at every intersection to ask the passenger which way to turn. That is absurd.

Smart experts notice that, within the same kind of task, the problems an Agent runs into are often the same ones, and the new signals people need to provide in the next round are often the same as well.

Our Idea

A few months ago, I was sitting in front of the screen, prompting an Agent toward the next leg of its journey. Suddenly it occurred to me: why not place the guidance for the next leg ahead of time, at a coordinate the Agent will naturally pass through? Then I could be freed from the computer.

The Agent is the brave general. The thoughtful expert is Zhuge Liang. Every prompt we give the Agent is a strategy capsule, a Time Vault.

We Built SkillFlow

We built the SkillFlow App. It is a desktop application. It is not an Agent; it is an operating environment and workplace for Agents.

In SkillFlow, once an Agent finishes this leg, it sees the objective for the next leg, picks up the Skill it needs, and starts the work that follows. The same happens again on the next leg, until a large task is completed end to end.

In SkillFlow, an Agent is like a brave general running across a map. At each node, the information it receives is the capsule. That node is the Time Vault.

The correct route marked by a chain of these capsules is what we call SkillFlow.

We believe that in the collaboration between humans and AGI, the most important thing is the human guidance that suddenly appears during task interaction. These interactions with Agents contain human know-how in professional domains, the tacit knowledge and subtext that emerge in the moment, and precious personal taste.

There is also a voice, and a trend, saying that this best knowledge is not something ordinary people can master. AI products, they argue, should naturally have a high barrier, strong professional requirements, and high prices, because powerful models are dangerous and expensive to run. Many people have accepted this dangerous argument, begun to declare a so-called K-shaped society and a permanently poor class, and even elites who hold social discourse tell the public: "Because you are not working hard enough, you are not capable enough. Look for the reasons in yourselves."

We believe ordinary people are not without creativity, ambition, or taste. If they do not yet have the skills or wealth to use AI, it is because society lacks excellent experts who can empower them, not because they are unworthy. No one has the right to monopolize humanity's intellectual resources. Everyone should have the right to command the most advanced AI.

As an expert, your interaction process with Agents is truly precious human knowledge and wealth. You also have a responsibility to preserve and safeguard that knowledge for humanity. Once this interaction process is captured, AI best practices can truly become reproducible, shareable, and distributable. Ordinary people may then genuinely have a chance to summon the best AI productivity with one click. Each capsule you leave for an Agent is also left for millions of ordinary people who need your help.
